Inositol has similar functions to that of Vitamin B1. It is widely used
in producing compound vitamins. It is often used to treat such diseases
as liver hardening, blood vessel-hardening, high cholesterol and
carton-tetrachloride poisoning. Also commonly used as a pharmaceutical
intermediate.
